In the traditional imagery of spiritual alchemy, the ascending Phoenix represents the ultimate stage of human transformation and gives voice to its deepest and most astounding secret: our trials and tribulations can serve to kindle a fire that burns away our false self, out of which we may rise anew, more clearly reflecting our primordial nature of essential completeness.
